 Derek L. Childs assumed the position of President/CEO of Bleckley County Ace Inc. in May 2002.  As President/CEO of Bleckley County Ace Inc., Mr. Childs increased product lines, first under the affiliation with Ace Hardware Corporation and now with the recent conversion to Do it Best Corp.  After partnering with Do it Best and its 4200 stores nationwide, Bleckley County Ace Inc. chose to operate under the name:

Bleckley County Hardware

Mr. Childs has been very active with the Bleckley County Chamber of Commerce.  Since 2002, he has held positions on the Board of Directors as Chairman of the Board (2004), Past Chairman of the Board (2005) and has continued to be elected to the Board of Directors through 2010.  He has been appointed to serve on the Military Affairs Committee to Robins Air Force Base, and was appointed by Robins Air Force Base Commander Major General Michael A. Collings as an Honorary Base Commander.

Mr. Childs has also been a member of the Bleckley County Rotary Club, Bleckley County Men's Club, and the Masonic Lodge #217.

Mr. Childs and Bleckley County Hardware Team continue to support several Bleckley County School Athletic Programs, Middle Georgia College, and Bleckley County Recreation Department.
